terms of service

Effective 2026-08-17. Mossbear is in private beta.

who these terms are with

The operating entity for Mossbear is being formed and is not yet named here. Until it is, Mossbear is offered to a small number of invited beta testers only, it is not offered to the public, and no fees are charged. If you need to know who stands behind the service before using it, ask before signing up — we would rather answer that than have you agree to a document with a gap in it.

using Mossbear

Mossbear helps individual developers manage agent guidance and evaluate sessions. You are responsible for the instructions, files, and account activity you submit, sync, or authorize through the service. You keep ownership of everything you write. Your guides, documents, and notes are yours; you grant us only the permission needed to store, sync, and process them so the service can do what you asked it to do.

acceptable use

Do not use Mossbear to break the law or violate others' rights.
Do not attack, overload, reverse engineer, or abuse the service.
Do not submit protected health information, payment card data, government ID numbers, or other regulated sensitive data.

AI processing disclosure

Mossbear may send guide text, rule content, action metadata, and evaluation context to LLM providers such as OpenRouter or OpenAI to normalize guides and evaluate whether agent actions followed them. Mossbear is designed so raw transcripts and code files stay on your machine unless a feature clearly says otherwise.

account access and termination

Keep your login and CLI tokens secure. We may suspend or terminate access for abuse, security risk, non-payment for paid features, or material violation of these terms.

beta status, service changes, and warranty disclaimer

Mossbear is in private beta and is provided as-is. Features may change or be removed, data may be reset between beta phases, and availability is not guaranteed — do not rely on Mossbear as the only copy of anything. Your guides and documents are designed to live as ordinary files on your own machine precisely so that this is true, and you can export everything at any time from Settings. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim implied warranties and are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-profit damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, in which case they apply only as far as that jurisdiction permits.

changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product develops. The effective date at the top of this page changes when we do. For any change that materially reduces your rights, we will tell beta users directly rather than relying on you to re-read this page. Continuing to use Mossbear after a change means you accept it.

privacy

The Privacy Policy explains what Mossbear collects, what stays local, and which providers process data. Read the Privacy Policy.
